Parent Survey

The Long Beach Unified School District is conducting a survey of all parents regarding the culture and climate of local schools.

The survey, which is an important part of the school district’s accountability plan, takes five to 10 minutes to complete.

The school district is particularly interested in parents’ thoughts on schools’ efforts to promote academic success and well-being for every student. The survey also is available at www.lbschools.net under CORE Parent Survey.

8th Grade Families: HS CHOICE Update

As of midnight on Saturday, February 14th, 2015, parents and students who participated in the high school choice process can log into their ParentVue accounts to view the results of the selection for our secondary specialized programs. Written notification has also gone out to each family through U.S. Mail.

If your student has been accepted to any of their specialized choices, there will be a place for you to register your intention for the program of choice. You can only choose to attend one program that has selected you. This intention must be set no later than midnight on Monday, February 23, 2015.

This selection is only for the specialized programs which have minimum academic criteria. If your student did not apply to any specialized programs, they will receive a letter in mid-March with their high school assignment.

At this point, there is no space available in any specialized program. If space does become available, the High School Choice Office will notify families of a change in decision. If you feel there has been an error, the appeal window will open following the mid-March assignment letters. Please refer to the High School Choice website for forms and instructions at that time.

Beginning Tuesday, February 17, 2015, our High School Choice Team will be returning phone calls and assisting families with the letters of intention through the High School Choice Hotline. If you have questions or need assistance, please call (562) 997-8306.
